When it comes to candles, there’s nothing better than candles made from beeswax. There are many health benefits to be derived from beeswax candles, not to mention that the smoke produced by these candles have no harmful effects on the environment, much unlike the other candles made from paraffin.
Beeswax is a natural by-product made by bees during their entire process of making honey, which means that when you make candles out of beeswax, you do not use any harmful ingredients to create the wax which you will then turn into candles.
The top of the honeycomb that you take out when you want to get the honey is what is known as the beeswax.
Health Benefits of Beeswax Candles
Beeswax candles do more than just not harm the body with the kind of toxic smoke you usually inhale from the other variety of candles but they have health benefits as well. If you suffer from asthma and allergies triggered by polluted air caused by cigarette smoke, carbon dioxide from car emissions and other air pollutants, lighting a beeswax candle could tremendously help your condition.
Beeswax candles produce negative ions which, in simpler terms, helps clean the air that you breathe. They emit clean, pure smoke when they burn unlike with a regular paraffin candle which emits a blackish kind of smoke when it burns.
In addition, the natural scent that they produce has a calming effect on the body which will help you relax and even sleep better if you’ve been having problems sleeping soundly at night.
Other Benefits
With all the health benefits that you can derive from lighting a beeswax candle, you would think that there’s nothing more that you can ask for; but there’s actually more that you can get from these types of candles.
While you might consider that beeswax candles are far more expensive than the cheaper, more commercial paraffin candles, you will find out in the long run that beeswax candles are actually more cost-effective.
Beeswax candles have a longer life than paraffin candles which burn fast and melt more easily. A beeswax candle will outlast a paraffin candle of the same size 5x over which ultimately saves you money in the end.
So when you think about it, beeswax candles have all the health benefits that you need to help you breathe cleaner and fresher air; plus it is more cost-effective than any regular candle in the market today.

Even though you have all the necessary furniture and items needed for each room, it will still seem like it is lacking something, and that is because it is the home interior accessories that gives the room a personal look. But what are these home interior accessories that can liven up a room?
Home Interior Accessories
Home interior accessories are those knickknacks that people usually collect and display on bookshelves and coffee tables. They are also accessories that are placed on top of fireplaces or tables. The range of home interior accessories is wide, and they can range from clocks to even bathroom weighing scales. They also include dining room accessories like a collection of different-colored glass bottles or salt and pepper shakers. As for living room accessories, you have the usual lamps and the photo frames that adorn coffee tables and fireplace mantles. Candles are also considered as home interior accessories, and these can be used as decorative pieces anywhere inside the house, like the bedroom and the bathroom.
Personalizing with Home Interior Accessories
These home interior accessories can tie the theme of a room together. For example, your dining room has a country charm theme, then the home interior accessories that best fits the theme are wicker baskets and wicker dining table and chair. You will also find the typical barn stars adorning the walls of a country-themed dining room. When it comes to dining table centerpieces, the popular choice for a country-themed dining room is a garland placed inside a basket. Large country candles are also added to the garland with potpourri scattered artfully inside the basket, adding color and scent to the centerpiece.
There are other themes wherein you can use home interior accessories to personalize the room, but if you are having a hard time deciding on what kind of theme will look best on a particular room, then your lifestyle is a good starting point. If you are the modern and hip type, then contemporary home interior accessories are what will suit your home best.
Looking for Home Interior Accessories
It is not that hard to look for home interior accessories. The malls, especially in the home and garden section, have a wide range of products to choose from.
Another place where you can look for them is in the Internet where you can simply type the keyword of what you are looking for and then you will be directed to websites offering the product.
Flea markets as well as secondhand and bargain stores are other alternatives. You can also browse through garage sales for hard-to-find home interior accessories.

There are many ways to improve the design of your homes. It can be by adding new furniture or adding plants, while some add lighting to make their homes more dramatic. But there are others who are looking for simpler decorations for their living room, and the best way to achieve both lighting as well as decorative function is to use home interior candles.
Why Use Home Interior Candles
Candles come in various shapes as well as sizes. There are scented candles, votive candles, tea lights, floating candles, candles placed in jars, smokeless candles, and a whole lot more variety of candles. Candles are perfect for any occasion, and they can be lit up to celebrate that occasion. But when these home interior candles are not going to be used as a source of light, their design can still add to the interior decoration of the room. Some candles are placed in decorative glasses or packages, and homeowners buy them and then arrange them artfully on their tables to serve as centerpieces.
Because of the flexibility of home interior candles, many candle makers are thinking up of ways to improve their products. They want to make sure that their candles are longer lasting as well as have the best scents that can soothe the senses, so each candle that you can see in stores has different compositions. You can try to experiment and buy different scented candles to get the ideal scent that suits your senses perfectly. However, if you are not a fan of scented candles, then there are the unscented home interior candles. What they lack in scent, they more than make up for it in their designs.
Good Placements for Home Interior Candles
Tea light candles can be placed in small candle holders and serve as cozy sources of light. They are also perfect for wall sconces since they emit soft light. Floating candles, on the other hand, can be placed in bowls and placed anywhere in your home. They are also perfect for the pond in your garden or placed on the garden table as a decor. Candles placed in jars are also great decorations for your home. The decorative jars they come in can already serve as a decoration or ornament, and they can be placed anywhere inside the home and become a part of your home’s design. Smokeless candles, on the other hand, are perfect for condos and apartments.
You can buy decorative candles anywhere. There are brick-and-mortar stores as well as online shops selling decorative candles, so looking for them and buying them is not that much of a problem.

There are many ways you can decorate at Christmas. Many people put up the lights and their artificial Christmas trees and other people love to burn candles. There are many reasons jar candles are the best idea during the holidays. These reasons include the aroma, the decoration, the safety, and the jar can be used later.
It is best to buy scented jar candles during the Christmas holiday when you use artificial Christmas trees. This is because the artificial trees don’t have a scent. You can buy pine candles and give the room the scent as if your tree is real. Many people can be fooled when you buy these types of candles. In addition, the scent in the air always freshens up the room and gives you the holiday feel you should have. The scents most people love to buy during the holidays include pumpkin pie, pine, cinnamon, and others.
Scented jar candles are favored during the holidays because they look great with other decorations. Even as your artificial Christmas trees look nice too, the flames from candles look fabulous when the tree is all lit up too. Jar candles also look really nice too. You can burn them over and over and they continue to look nice. You can buy jar candles in many different shapes and sizes to match just about any type of Christmas décor.
When you buy scented jar candles during the holiday season it is a good idea because of the safety. It is common for people to have household fires during the Christmas season because of dry Christmas trees and open candles burning. Jar candles are perfect for safety as the use of artificial Christmas trees is. You can put the lid on the candle when you are finished for the night. The last thing anyone wants during the Christmas season is to have a fire in their home. This is devastating for the people this happens to.
When the candle finally burns down to the bottom of a jar it is nice to be able to use it over again. You can always use the jars as neat little storage places for items that have no place. If you like to make your own candles you shouldn’t reuse jar candle jars for more candles. This is because the glass of the jar tends to weaken, which will cause the glass to not be strong enough to withstand the heat the second time you burn a candle.
Jar candles are the best candles to buy at Christmas for decorating your home. There are many reasons for this which includes the safety because there is a lid on them and the nice way they look. You always want a nice smelling candle to put the smell of Christmas in the air too. Many people have their own scents that remind them of the holidays. You can find decorative candles for the holiday season and they will still look nice as a decorative piece even after the holiday.

If you are a candle lover and you spend a lot of money on candles you might consider making them yourself. It is easy to make scented jar candles. Once you learn how to make them you will be surprised at the money you save by making them yourself. They are also an excellent way to illuminate your home and provide aromatherapy methods too.
To start off you will need a jar. There are three primary sizes of jars that can be used. Some people like to use frosted glass jars because they illuminate differently than a clear glass jar. You can use whichever you prefer. Decorating the outside of the jar might be a consideration too. When you decorate the jars it can give off a 3D design when the candle is lit up. You also might consider personalizing the jar with your name, a date, or something else. Another great idea is to use a jar that has the look of a mug. You can reuse the jar as a mug after the candle is burned or you can make another candle.
Glass bottles are another favorite to use. This is because you don’t have to go out and buy a jar you can use an old wine bottle as you finish. Rather than throw your bottles in the trash, use them for scented jar candles. In addition, they have a cool looks that you don’t normally get with a traditional candle.
When you use a bottle for a jar candle it is important to wash it thoroughly. Be sure to get any glue from a label completely off of the jar. This isn’t important if you are going to affix your own label. Don’t add your label to the jar until you have finished making your candle. If you do when you pour in the melted wax the label will only fall off of the jar or bottle.
Now you want to think about the wax. The best way to make scented candles is by using the single pour wax flakes. These work best if you are trying to achieve a specific color of candle and they will blend the best. You need to consider the fragrance oils you want for the candle too. You want to purchase oils that are ‘raw’. If it says raw it means that the oil isn’t diluted with any other type of oil. This is the strongest and will put off the best scent for jar candles. In addition, you don’t need to use as much oil in the wax.
A wick that has a zinc core is usually a favored wick. Remember that zinc cores can burn toxins though. This might make you want to consider an uncored wick or a cotton braid wick. The think about a zinc core is that it burns slow which increases the lifetime of your candle. The cotton wicks burn at an acceptable rate too.
Pour the candle flakes in a glass container and melt in the microwave. Add dye for coloring of the candle at approximately 160 degrees. Let the wax cool a little and add the fragrance oil and stir the wax. Add the oil until the candle is at the strength you like. Use a wick holder stick and put the wick in the middle of the jar. Pour in the wax and let it sit until the wax is dry. The last thing you will need to do is trim the wick to the desired length.

Those of us who are busy all the time find ways to make simple changes that save time. For example, I have two friends who work very long hours and get a great deal accomplished. One of my friends works in US immigration while the other works as an online marketing consultant. Both also have very full personal lives and lots of obligations, so both have developed sneaky ways to save every minute. Some of their time-saving routines include freezing meals for quick meals later or doing laundry only once a week to reduce the amount of time doing that chore.
Recently, though, while talking to them I realized that both of them use candles to help them save even more time and hassle. Here’s how:
- Tuck candles (and matches or lighters) into several drawers around the house and in your car. If your car breaks down or the lights go out, you won’t have to run around looking for a light.
- Put some candles and pretty candle holders among your plates or cutlery. When you want to create a special dinner, you just have to pop out the candles as you set the table.
- Buy some nice Votivo candles or other luxury scented candles, wrap them and place them in your linen closet. Your linens will smell great and when you need a quick gift for someone, you can just pop out your already wrapped gift and you are done. Another great tip is to stock up on blank note cards and store the cards in a box along with a few wrapped candles. That way, when you need a quick gift you can write up a nice note, attach it to your wrapped candle and you’re done. Plus, the candles will make your notepaper and stationary smell wonderful.
- Stock up on candles and other non-perishable essentials once or twice a year. Some items – including paper towels, paper napkins, pantyhose, and socks, to name just a few – can easily be stored infinitely and by having such items on hand you reduce the hassle of running out. When these items go on sale or when you find a great deal, buy in bulk and store in it your home. You will save yourself a lot of time and stress.
- Light some candles around your home as you clean and before guests show up. There are many complicated scented products on the market – sprays, complex incense holders and other items meant to freshen your home. Lighting a candle is much simpler and quicker – not to mention healthier. If you’ve been so busy that you’ve let cleaning pile up, a scented candle clears the air and makes your home pleasant again.
- Take some time for yourself. No matter how hectic your day, taking the time to light a candle and listen to some pleasant music is essential. Every day, take some time to relax, read, or do something relaxing that makes you feel great.

Today, many homeowners use a variety of products to add fragrance to their homes. Unfortunately, many of these products have been found to contribute to poor indoor air quality and some have been found to be absolutely unsafe. Worse, many of these products, although they’re quite expensive, are actually quite ineffective in producing lasting fragrance in the home.
If you use perfumed room sprays, for example, you may be spraying formaldehyde as well as other known carcinogens around your home. Not all the dangerous chemicals found in these products are always listed on the labels, as recent media reports have shown. These spray products are constantly being recalled. Plus, many customers complain that although the linen sprays and room sprays promise long-lasting results, in many cases the results are very short term.
If you want to add fragrance to your home without affecting your indoor air quality and threatening the health of yourself and your family, scented candles are a much better option. Of course, low-quality scented candles and generic type of scented candles can be just as dangerous as room sprays. Cheap candles sold en masse at the local discount store can contain lead and other harmful toxins. However, high-quality wax candles, soy candles, and all natural candles are perfectly safe to use inside a home and still provide hours of lasting fragrance.
Scented candles today not only come in a rainbow of colors and an intoxicating array of scents, but they provide a higher quality of scent than sprays, potpourri, and other means of adding scents to your home. For one thing, candles that are of a high quality make use of layered scents. That is, the perfume in the candle is layered slowly and the candles are poured slowly, meaning that the fragrance lasts as long as the candle burns. Many of these candles have high quality perfumes that the rival the finest perfumes in the world. In fact, many of these candles do not even have to be lit to give off their wonderful fragrance. Many of these candles can be placed in cupboards, closets, and drawers to give off their intoxicating scent. The scent will only continue when the candles are actually lit and put to use.
Scented candles are also a more effective way of dispersing fragrance throughout your home because they are an active way of dispersing fragrance. You’ve probably noticed that when you spray a room spray around your home, at first the fragrance is definitely present. This is because you have actively sprayed the fragrance, which makes it more potent than a potpourri which simply sits in a corner gathering dust. Unfortunately, you cannot reasonably keep spraying forever. A candle does the work for you, continuing to burn and therefore continuing to gently waft fragrance throughout your home.
Obviously, candles have much to offer. Not only do they provide wonderful fragrance that lasts for much longer than other forms of scents, but they can also help improve your home air quality. In fact, if you have poor indoor air quality and have odors caused by furnace omissions, dust, grime, and other problems, scented candles can help dispel the odor while you work on fixing the underlying problem.

We are eyewitness of rapidly growing fragrance natural bath and body industry. But together with it emerges huge market of knockoffs and imitations. We every day face with problem how to distinguish original from fake products. Also, sometimes we are brought in temptation to buy knockoffs because of attractive price. This article tries to investigate in depth good and bad sides and face you with possible treats.
Designer fragrances are successful because each designer’s fragrance represents something special about them, their personality and taste of time. Many people today can relate to these designers in many ways by fashion or fragrance. Also good manufacturers of candles have made real artwork designing composition. Many fragrances come in pair with appropriate candles like Sud Pacifique perfumes. “The popularity of these items really reflects more of how people are feeling about their homes,” said Pam Danzinger, president and founder of Unity Marketing. Scented candles continue to be the first choice for home fragrance, but an expanding range of other products, including electric plug-ins, diffusers, scent disks, sprays, potpourri, incense, and bed linen spray are behind the rapid pace of the overall market. All those products are making our ambient more present and increase our life quality.
Sources of knockoffs are gray markets present inside but especially lately all around the world. The market for candles and home fragrances reached $8.4 billion last year, a 14 percent increase from the previous year, according to Unity Marketing Inc. in Stevens, Pa. Imitators are rushing to get significant part of the pie especially targeting online buyers. The firm found that 80 percent of all adult Americans purchased a home fragrance product in the past year, including candles and candle accessories, sprays, plug-ins, room fresheners, potpourris, air fresheners, and air purifiers.
Original or imitation the question is now? Optional: Possible but not necessary; left to personal choice. MEANING YOU DON’T PAY FOR IT IF YOU DON’T WANT IT. SO GET OVER YOURSELF.
Only to mention few main reasons against fake perfumes and why always buy from trusted perfume stores:
- It brings health risks;
- Consumers are sometimes not aware of it so overpay things of much lower quality, sometimes totally useless;
- It devalues you as a person in your own eyes…
just to mention some.
Low quality candle was found to be considerably higher in carcinogenic polycyclic hydrocarbons than air beside roads traveled by 45,000 vehicles daily. Free radicals are highly reactive molecules that damage lung including those connected with major respiratory conditions such as asthma and chronic bronchitis.
The therapeutic qualities of plants may be totally ruined with bad synthetic copies of perfumes. “The recipes for our fragrances are our trade secret, our know-how, the very essence of our profession,” Francis Thibaudeau, chairman of the Perfumers’ Society, told French La Chaine Info (LCI) television. But their main concern is that it will make it easy for manufacturers of copycat perfumes to imitate their brands and that it could ruin the entire industry.
Research facts about perfumes, buy at trusted online perfume stores is best advice and avoid imitations because original is only one all copies are in the best-case average success.

I have to admit that scented jar candles are among my favorite type of candles. I love the fact that these candles travel anywhere – to hotel rooms, to vacation homes, to guest rooms. Anywhere I travel, I can add instant scent and coziness in the amount of time it takes to light a match. The fact that the candles are in jars helps to keep the fragrance contained and therefore all the more powerful when the candles are lit. Plus, the handy jars can be used for many practical things once the candle is burnt out. In my estimation, scented jar candles are simply the best value for my money.
Having said that, though, I have to admit that I like some scented jar candles the best. My current choices include Archipelago Botanicals Ambiant Jar Candle, which combines the intoxicating scents of avocado, teakwood and amber. Made from the best ingredients, this candle features 60 hours burn time. The 4.5″ tall and 3.5″ wide candle fits in most places but is small enough to travel well. I also love the fact that this scented jar candle is made from essential oils and natural fragrances. I like knowing that I’m not burning toxic chemicals in my home.
I also currently love the Herve Gambs Pomme D’Amour Noel Candle. The scent is completely reminiscent of Christmas, but the candy apple fragrance is also delicious for fall. I also adore the ruby red glass jar. When lit, the jar imparts a wonderful glow and the candle jar also looks stunning in my home. The Herve Gambs Pomme D’Amour Noel Candle is also a main choice for me because it burns for 60 hours and measures 3″ wide by 4″ tall. The wax even contains anti-tobacco ingredient.
Another favorite of mine is the Manuel Canovas Fleur de Coton Candle, with its intoxicating scent of linden flower, white-thorn and morning dew. The clean crisp fragrance is ideal year-round. The Manuel Canovas Fleur de Coton Candle comes in a frosted glass jar, which is emblazoned with the MANUEL CANOVAS monogram. It looks so stunning in my home that people assume I have spent a small fortune on this candle. I love the fact that the Manuel Canovas Fleur de Coton candle comes with a glamorous gold lid and burns 60 hours.
Another favorite of mine is the Jimmy Belasco Soy Absinthe Candle. With notes of lime peel, patchouli, amber, lavender, and sandalwood, the Jimmy Belasco Soy Absinthe Candle is heavenly and it is not too feminine, either. I have given this candle to male friends with great success – they loved it! The Jimmy Belasco Soy Absinthe candle has a “pure soy” wax formula that only uses two all-natural ingredients. The candle is made from soy beans and vegetable oil. I love the fact that this candle is so pure and non-toxic and I adore the simple glass container, decorated only with Jimmy’s signature. The candle burns for 50+ hours and measures 3.5″ by 2.75.” I have also found less problems with soot and smoke with this candle, which I love, since I hate trimming the wick and fussing over candles.

If you want to spice up your home, there is no better way than with scented jar candle. Scented jar candles are in ideal solution for any home, since these candles are covered up when not in use. This means that unlike figurines and other small decorating items, scented jar candles won’t be just another item that you will eventually have to dust and clean as it gathers grime. Scented jar candles will gently infuse your home with warmth, color, and scents, all while not contributing to the clutter in your home.
If you want to decorate your home, but wish to place a candle somewhere near water or clutter, scented jar candles are ideal because the glass will protect the wax from damage and from other objects. Glass candles may also be slightly safer, since the heat is contained in the glass.
Scented jar candles look fabulous on mantel pieces, coffee tables, side tables, and dining room tables. You can select from squares or round glass jars, from large scented jar candles to small ones. When selecting the right glass jar candles, consider sent first. Select a scent that compliments your home. For example, if you already have incense or other scented products that smell of fresh lemon, look for a candle that has a crisp, clean scent.
If you have no scented products in your home, you’re free to select the candle that smells best to you. One advantage of scented jar candles is that they can take care of those “invisible” scents that most homeowners do not even realize exist in their homes. Most homeowners become so used to the odors in their homes that they don’t even realize that their homes are stinky. Guests certainly notice, though. If you want to avoid embarrassment, a few scented jar candles placed around your home will help take care of any odors and will create a pleasant atmosphere in your home.
The second thing which to consider when buying scented jar candles is color. Most scented jar candles come in clear glass, but you can also buy jar candles contained in colored glass. This can create a stunning “stained glass” effect when the candle is lit. Look for scented jar candles that have either wax or glass in a color that compliments the colors of your home. If you have warm colors, opt for orange, red, brown, and earthy tones. If you have cool colors in your home, try blue and green shades. Of course, you can select classic white or black candles which will complement any color scheme at all.
Once you have your candles at home, arrange them so that they create the best scent. Of course, you want to keep them well out of reach of any pets or children. Beyond that, however, you should be considering where the candles will create the most scent. You may wish to place the candles at about face level. For example, you may wish to place your candles on mantel pieces or on taller bookshelves — provided there are no books nearby that can catch on fire — in order to place the scent at about the same level as your nose when you are standing. You may also wish to place a few candles down lower — for example, on coffee tables — so that the scents can rise up towards your nose.
